I have always wanted to try pottery but I had no confidence in myself that I could do it. I'd always been told I have zero artistic ability. I decided to give pottery a try anyway. I signed up for a beginner class this winter and with Linda’s patience, guidance and encouragement, she taught me not only how to throw on the wheel but also that I have the artistic ability to make beautiful hand pieces. I am surprised and excited by the pieces I was able to make this first set of sessions! I am eagerly looking forward to another set of sessions in the spring. if you are considering pottery but aren't sure you can do it I strongly suggest giving it a try. After receiving a kiln from a friend, I wanted to find a local and experienced Potter who offered classes to teach the basics of creating pottery and using a kiln. A quick search led me to find The Cracked Pot Studio located in Chatham ON. Linda's flexible hours and patient nature allowed me the opportunity to take my time and explore a variety of techniques such as handbuilding and throwing clay using a Potters wheel. Linda's beginner- level classes ensured that I was engaged while accommodating to my level of creativity. My experience with Linda allowed me the opportunity to learn and create at my own pace. I will recommend to anyone who is willing to try something new to sign up for classes with Linda.

In 2023 my family knew I was interested in taking a pottery class. They grouped together and paid for it as my Christmas present. This pottery class proved to be challenging but so much fun and I have enjoyed making my own creations. Surprise! My first piece was my greatest surprise! The glaze colours were beautiful! Linda Leigh you were patient, encouraging, supportive and if I were a lot younger without arthritic fingers,( 79 years of age), I would love to come back for more lessons! Thank you so much!
